Fusion Academy Walnut Creek

Fusion Academy in Walnut Creek, CA opened in 2012 as the 10th fusion campus nationwide. Fusion Walnut Creek is a private school where classes are one-to-one: one student and one teacher per class. The  Teacher / Teachers can customize the curriculum and adjust to the strengths, interests and learning style of their students. Students may attend full-time middle and high school or part-time credit, tutoring and mentoring classes, post-secondary counseling, and more.

 

Fusion offers secondary school classes in English, Language Arts, Mathematics , Science, History, Social Studies, Health , Wellness, PE and World Languages, along with a variety of electives. Courses can be taken at two levels: the essential and the college prep (preparing them for secondary studies within the content of the course).

 

For high school students, Fusion offers classes in English, Math , Science, History, Social Studies, Health , Wellness, PE, Visual & Performing Arts, World Languages and a wide range of options. Courses can be taken at the basic and college prep levels, and some of the honorary levels are available.

 

The aim of the Fusion Academy is to launch individuals with the capacity to lead an authentic life and to leave their own unique mark on the world. Strong test scores and university or work matriculation may be indicators of success, but they are not the only, or even the primary, benchmarks against which they measure success. They serve a broad and dynamic student population and value and celebrate a broad and holistic definition of success.  

 

They use multiple measures of success to build a robust understanding of each student, from academic outcomes to well-being and life satisfaction, and empower each student through multiple opportunities for self-reflection and evaluation of progress. They also survey the parents to hear their thoughts about Fusion’s impact on their student and family.

 

Their ultimate goal is to help their students discover and follow their own unique path. They want them to thrive in whatever their next steps are after Fusion, whether they're moving back to another school or graduating with them and pursuing post-secondary options. Whatever they are, they are committed to supporting their students and their families.

 

They meet students where they are and help them to thrive from their unique beginning. While the majority of students entering Fusion have academic skills at or above grade level, many report previous school struggles for a variety of reasons. Through their thoughtful approach to Love, Motivate, Teacher, they see students change their understanding of themselves and the future that they have the power to create.
