2021 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Landscape Design/Outdoor Living $100,000 to $250,000

A married couple in their 30s wanted to upgrade their front and back yards to include an attractive entry and plenty of succulent plants in the frontyard, and an outdoor entertainment area in the back yard. Throughout the project, the clients changed their minds multiple times, which caused many change orders and delays during the project. Diligence was required to fulfill this couple’s vision for their space. Some of the materials incorporated into the design include pavers, composite decking, stepstone concrete for the pathways, sod and low maintenance plantings. The couple is thrilled with the results, especially the outdoor kitchen and seating areas.

2021 Regional CotY Award Winner, Commercial Exterior

The management team of a gated community wanted to transform their pool area. Their old pool deck had deteriorating concrete, so the team opted to replace the deck with pavers rather than repair the concrete. The old pool area spanned more than 7000 square feet and in many areas the concrete was 18-inches thick. Challenges associated with the concrete removal delayed the demo portion of the process by two weeks. The newly paved pool area features the gated community’s logo designed with pavers at the entrance of the pool.

2021 Regional CotY Award Winner, Commercial Specialty

This large apartment complex was built in 1966. Many areas of the facility needed an upgrade to look more modern and sophisticated. The old concrete pathways were cracked and buckling, causing quite a safety hazard. The old concrete pathways were removed and replaced with pavers, providing a smooth pathway. This was not only a safety improvement, but also improved the overall look of the property. In addition to the paver pathways, multiple locations got an upgrade to the plants and grasses around the property, giving it a fresh new appeal.

Low maintenance elements were installed throughout, including a synthetic lawn and drought tolerant planting. A key design element is the travertine pavers with the synthetic lawn in between. The space includes a bocce ball court with a hinged door push-to-open mechanism to easily access the area, which has a 4-inch high frame all the way around it. A water feature and small citrus trees were added as well.
