John Baldwin Elementary School is a learning environment where each student is involved in their own learning as well as others' development. The school’s mission is to ensure that our students and staff have the skills necessary to join the global community as independent, yet collaborative innovators seeking to bring about positive change in the world.


John Baldwin Elementary School is also a highly rated, public school. It has 585 students in grades K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 27 to 1. According to state test scores, 76% of students are at least proficient in Math and 81% in Reading.


Many citizens of Danville are constantly amazed by the community of parents, the commitment and dedication of the school’s teachers and staff. The faculty members have shown quality leadership on their job. The Cougar Education Fund does an excellent job in raising needed funds for the art, science and technology departments. The school’s PTA has built a community unlike anything anyone has seen elsewhere. The office staff is professional and responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their students. John Baldwin Elementary school’s principal is always available to assist parents, children and teachers when necessary and leads the whole campus with a clear vision. Every school, whether private or public, has room for improvement, and John Baldwin Elementary school is no exception.
