Montair Elementary School is located on the west side of Interstate 680 in a park-like setting in the heart of Danville. Attendance is determined and established by school district boundaries.
This school is amazing! Nice teachers, friendly students, and great facilities. Kids get to go on many educational and fun field trips. The campus is safe and the school has a nice playground and a big field.
We also consider Montair as a very special school. In our own opinion, we have never seen anything that compares to it. Montair exudes balance, warmth, and inclusion. In addition to general education classes for K-5, we have various programs for children of diverse needs (TK, SDC, ATP). It instills in students and staff a healthy sense of acceptance on campus; a perception that we are all important and that we honor and respect each other. In fostering it integration, the teachers play an integral part. Due to donations from parents and volunteers, the school also supports services such as garden training, art history / instruction, healthy eating awareness, and drama. These days, this is unusual to find in primary schools. It shows that Montair cherishes the idea of the whole child regardless of cost and test scores. Parents are down to earth, grounded individuals who most importantly want their children to be happy and engaged.
Teachers provide high-quality education while acknowledging that children are children and also socially supporting them. Montair is a special place, as stated earlier. It is heartbreaking when individuals defame the school publically and anonymously, clearly omitting other sides or information, and doing so for personal reasons. The bottom line is Montair is not perfect. No school is. Not everyone can be happy. There will always be those few who find or encounter faults. Ultimately, Montair is really special in that it provides a safe, happy and engaged environment for children. There is work that goes into that. Many other members of the community are proud of what the school has become.
