Cayetano Park

The Parks and Park District of the Livermore Area is ready to add a brand new park to the more than 40 in the city currently open.

 

Located on the northeast corner of Portola Road, where Isabel Avenue turns into Campus Hill Drive, Cayetano Park provides a range of recreational opportunities for residents.

 

Located on a hill with a view, the 11.5-acre park provides many modern amenities.:

 

• For children of all ages, playground facilities, including an archaeological dig sand area with water feature, plus shade umbrellas

• Synthetic turf sports field with lights and bleachers

• Dog park with separate area for small dogs and drinking fountain for dogs

• Barbecue picnic area with shade structure and universally accessible picnic tables

• A blue basketball court made with Plexipave, a high-quality heavy duty surface

• Large grass field area for open play

• Restrooms open during regular park hours

• Lighted pathways

 

Cayetano Park has nice big open spaces, lots of parking, tennis, basketball and soccer courts, and hills to climb. There's a sandbox with the cool dinosaur rock. The only thing that makes some people a little disappointed is that it is lacking a lot of play area for smaller kids. You get a great view of the mountains and airplanes, and it overlooks the new ant farm development being built below. Easy to get to off of 580 and from Livermore.

 

Ample parking is the first thing you will find at this new park. There are hiking trails, play areas for big kids, turf soccer fields and basketball courts here. There is also a dog park in the back. In addition to all this, there are also decent restrooms.
