At Valley View Middle School, school counselors work with students, families, and employees to help students achieve their potential and plan for their future. They  provide social/emotional support, academic guidance, and career and college preparation designed to encourage the success of students.

At Valley View Middle School, they have one full-time school counselor and another school counselor here only on Fridays to handle all of their pupils. During the course of the day, their school counselors regularly have meetings scheduled for students. Students and parents may call their school counselors about the needs of students during distance learning, and parents may also speak with school counselors when they return to onsite learning - preferred appointments.

 

Department

By subject level taught, Valley View's employees are divided into departments. Core educators are, for instance, in both the departments of English and History. Each department has a department head, and that teacher disseminates data relevant to the curriculum of that department. Department heads consult with administrators on a monthly basis.
