Sun Valley is a suburb of San Rafael, California, with a population of 4,129. Sun Valley is located in Marin County and is one of the best places to live in California. Living in Sun Valley gives people a feeling of urban-suburban mix and most of the residents own their homes. There are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and parks in the Sun Valley. Many pensioners live in the Sun Valley, and the residents tend to be liberal. The Sun Valley public schools are above average.

You certainly need a car here, or at least a bike, to get to a transit center not far away, perhaps a mile to a major new train stop, a bus stop, and other bus companies stop, and the ferry is not far away and can be reached by road. Sun Valley College is the best place to be, and the community is right there, too. It's a wonderful place to live in.

The 2000 U.S. census counted 75,848 residents in the 9,42-mile Sun Valley neighborhood— or 8,048 people per square mile— about the city's average population density. In 2008, the city reported that the population had risen to 81,788.

In 2000, the median age for residents was 28, considered young for urban and rural neighborhoods; the number of residents aged 10 or younger were among the highest in the state. One in ten Sun Valley residents aged 25 and over had received a 4-year degree by 2000, a low percentage for both the city and the county. For the district, the percentage of same-age residents with less than a high school diploma was small.

The median annual household income in 2008 dollars was $51,290, considered average for the area, but small for the county. The numbers of households that earned between $20,000 and $60,000 were high for the county. Renters accounted for 46.1 percent of the housing stock, and house or apartment-owners accounted for 53.9 percent.  The neighborhood is known for its youthful population as a whole and for its moderate racial diversity.

All of these wonderful neighborhoods are located just a short distance from our San Rafael location, so make sure to give DPG Pavers San Rafael (on Civic Center Drive) a try when considering new pavers for your driveway, patio or pool deck!
